Subagent

A subagent is essentially a secondary agent to any given transaction. A subagent is the person who brings a buyer to the property, but they are not the listing agent, for whom the subagent acts as a secondary agent. In this case, the buyer and seller have two agents that are available throughout the transaction. Utilizing a subagent is commonplace in today’s real estate market because buyers typically have a preferred real estate agent that they wish to work with. The buyer’s agent provides a list of homes that are available and that suit the buyers needs; this list of homes typically includes both homes that the agent is listing as well as homes that other agents are listing. The inclusion of a subagent can be avoided if the buyer contacts the listing agent of a home that he or she is interested in directly.
