Once a budget is set, the general contractor can go over various options and help the owner come up with an affordable plan. After everything is finalized, the building will commence. Typically, the construction budget is set by the lender who is financing the build. The amount of money that the bank is willing to lend must cover the land purchase and the building of the home.
