Schematic Designs

Schematic designs are drawings of the initial floor plan and exterior of a home. These renderings are the important first step in the home building process. A good architect will first put pencil to paper in order to determine the home layout, and in a good schematic design, the dimensions of the home will be listed. These drawings can either be very basic or very involved, depending upon where in the process the architect is working. At later points in the process, the schematic designs will detail every structural component that will eventually comprise the home. Schematic designs can also be relevant in the commercial real estate setting: For pieces of commercial real estate, schematic designs tend to be much more involved, and they also take much more time to render. While a single architect might be able to put together the plan for a home, a commercial property will usually require a team of skilled professionals.
